I just got a new power supply and put it in my computer and plugged everything up and the computer wont turn on. I've checked a couple times to make sure I have everything plugged in right too.
My motherboard is ASUS, and on the box of the power supply it says it supports Intel and AMD. I am wondering whether that would have any effect on why my computer wont turn on or not -
The motherboard brand being ASUS has nothing to do with the processor type in this problem. On some power supplies there is a switch on the back that can be turned off and kill everything. Make sure you have the correct voltage selected and the external switch is not in the Off position (if equipped). Are you sure the power supply is good. It may be DOA from the box. You can also disconnect everything from the supply except the motherboard main power harness, and carefully jumper the power pins momentarily with a paperclip or small screwdriver. If that works, unplug from wall to shutdown and start connecting things one at a time.
