can you test a motherboard without a processor?
someone gave me an asrock p4s55fx+ motherboard socket 478
i have attached the graphics card and monitor and power which
are all working fine (and mouse and keyboard) i only have an old
pentium 3 1ghz and need to buy a pentium 4 processor can i test
the motherboard without the right processor or with no processor?
it turns on fine and the fan works but there is no display? i thought i would see the bios but nothing?. i guess i need a processor?
any ideas?
You definitely need a processor, you don't need a hard disk or operating system but the CPU is essential to run the code in the BIOS
