What kind of thermal compound does a stock heatsink have?
1. I was wondering .. is it grease or is it thermal pad?
i have an amd phenom II cpu.
2. And another question. Which one is harder to remove: a thermal grease heatsink or a thermal pad?
i just got a boxed amd cpu with a stock hsf and it had thermal paste on it...wiped it off and I used artic silver 5 for the thermal paste... pads or paste are not hard to get off...to get thermal paste off cpu or hsf I use rubbing alcohol...anything left from behind a pad i use the rubbing alcohol also... both are easy to get off.....
