I have my Nintendo Wii on standby, connected to the internet via the Nintendo USB adapter. Every few minutes or so a little pop-up window will appear on my taskbar to remind me that "a user is connected". The pop-up window is accompanied by an annoying sound. Is there anyway to mute this? I have tried to find the sound in the Control Panel's 'Sounds and Audio Devices', but it doesn't appear to be listed.
If the nintendo device came with software, open it and go to the preferences and see if it can be turned off.
maybe right click the icon on the taskbar and see if it lists any options that might contain the answer. If your usb keeps refreshing and causing you to lose connection for a fraction of a second i would try checking the local ports on your computer and see if one is malfunctioning.
However if it is just the sound that is annoying you....maybe unplug it if your not using it?
since your wii is on standby it wouldnt affect it, the blue flashing light will temporarily go away due to no connection. But unless your playing ur wii just unplug it. It should solve your problem
