Whole Motherboard Assembly
Are my laptop parts still good?

Heres the rundown: I have a Sony Vaio PCG-7M1L laptop that I saturated with hot chocolate :( ....took the whole thing apart..motherboard is fried, 6 or so 'hot spots' of shorting/burning..its dead i know it *tear*...heres my question...what are the chances that the RAM, CPU, battery, LCD monitor, CD/DVD, heat sink assembly still good? i have no way to test them, but the physical pieces have no liquid/burn/visual evidence of damage. its odd how the motherboard took every drop. I'm assuming that the CPU and RAM are dead, these things are very touchy to changes in electrical charges. Oddly enough, a good buddy of mine has the same model with a busted screen and dying battery and I was wondering if I could give them to him, but I didnt want to assume they are good. any thoughts/confirmations/suggestions? ty in advance y!m community...you have never failed me ;)

The LCD is almost definitely good, unless you got hot chocolate into the top cover. The battery is probably still good. The heatsink is just metal, so it's still good.

Replacing the motherboard and all the bad parts? It'll probably cost almost as much as a new laptop - maybe more. Put the old one into a box to use as spare parts. (If you can, soak it in rubbing alcohol overnight, then put it away. Maybe a few changes of alcohol, as the chocolate dissolves.)
