Is there a way I could run a wire or something like that from underneath the cover on the bottom of my laptop, the cover that has a wireless logo on it, (I am assuming the wifi adapter is under it like the system memory is under the other,) and use some sort of atenna and place it like on the top of my screen with some kind of tape, glue etc? I realize this will make it harder to open and close it, but I am just curious, can it be done? Sometimes when I am far away from my router it gets a poor signal, how to increase it? also is there maybe some sort of settings I can change in Windows to do this? Like a phone on "roam" mode will usually increase in signal I believe.. I know a bit about PCs, mostly desktops though, not so much laptops, so simple ways to explain this would be good

You can make a better antenna for your router, but i don't know about the wi-fi card. There's a how to somewhere on the net i read, it was easy and unexpensive, using copper wire, a screw, a mcdonalds straw and black marker for esthetics
